Donate Items You Don’t Need 

Moving is a good opportunity to declutter and give away items you don’t need to charity. 

Give away all the items you haven’t used for several months. This way, you’ll reduce your load and have fewer things to take care of, on the day of the move. Begin to de-clutter at least two weeks before the move. 

Make a List 

Once you have decluttered, make a list of things you want to move to the new place. With a list in hand, you’ll have a clear idea of the number of things you want to move. 

This information will come handy when talking to moving companies as well as choosing one that fits within your budget. 

Plan Your Packing 

Pack all the essentials such as medicines, toiletries and extra pairs of clothes in an overnight bag so you have them ready as soon as  you move in. Update Your Address Two Weeks Before Moving 

This is important not only for utilities, cable connections, banks and schools but also for any online and offline services that you may be using such as Amazon, newspaper and magazine subscriptions, mail and credit cards.
