When looking to buy a home it’s important to research local schools if you have children or are planning to expand the family. The school you send your child to is a big decision. It helps to be aware of what each school offers to its students and exactly what values your children will have modelled for them.

Narre Warren is home to a large variety of primary and secondary schools, all of magnificent quality. Here are just a handful to consider:

Fountain Gate Secondary College

This school is located at 45 Josephine Ave, Narre Warren. Fountain Gate Secondary College is proud of its core values of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, and Endeavour; ensuring these values are instilled in their students throughout their schooling years.

FGSC offers Choice Curriculum – allowing students to select specialised subjects in certain learning areas as they progress through each year; resulting in students having the ability to study what they are passionate about.

This High School offers German as a second language and a wide range of VCE subjects including Persian, Ancient History, Philosophy, Music, Economics, and Politics to name a few.

Narre Warren South P-12 College

This college is comprised of two sub-schools with the first taking students from Prep to Year 6, and the second taking students from Year 7 to Year 12. P-12 is proud to announce that the majority of their Year 6 students remain at the college to continue through to Year 7 and onwards.

With a median study score of 33, P-12 is currently above the state average as they have been for the past 7 years. VCAL and VET are also offered to students of the school, providing alternate pathways towards future careers and opportunities.

P-12 can be found at 79-125 Amberly Park Drive, Narre Warren South.

Narre Warren North Primary School

Narre Warren North Primary School is located at 31 Abeckett Road, Narre Warren North in the heart of a developing and semi-rural setting. This primary school originally opened in 1877 and has been dedicated to offering exemplary education ever since.

Notably, this school teaches Auslan (Australian Sign Language). Auslan is taught from Prep to Grade 5; providing an environment where students can not only learn to communicate in sign language, but to also understand Deaf culture and the importance of inclusion.

During lunchtime the school hosts extracurricular clubs that students can choose to participate in. Tech Club allows students to learn basic coding skills and explore up-to-date STEM technology. Garden Club teaches students how to grow seedlings into plants, with the majority being edible.

Hillsmeade Primary School

Hillsmeade understands “not all children are ready to learn the same thing at the same time in the same way”. As a result, this school has adopted a personalised learning approach that allows their teachers to cater for the individual needs and speeds of their students.

Mandarin is taught to students as a second language from Prep to Year 6. The language class focuses on learning about Eastern culture and history, as well as holiday celebrations, their cultural significance,  and of course how to communicate and write in Mandarin.

Hillsmeade also has an early learning centre available for children aged 3-5. The centre is open from 7am-6pm and allows young children to transition into prep. The children are encouraged to develop their interests while following structured routines and play-based learning.

Both Hillsmeade Primary School and Hillsmeade Early Learning Centre are located at 82 The Promenade, Narre Warren South.
